We’re called Voyeur and we make the world’s best men’s underwear. However, it’s spelled ‘Wojoer’, not ‘Voyeur’. You can also spell it ‘Wojör’, following the German spelling.
How did this name come about?
The brand name ‘Wojoer’ was developed during a creative team brainstorming session, in which the husband of one of our employees also took part via WhatsApp. The brainstorming session produced many fantastic names, including Wojör (pronounced ‘Voyeur’), derived from the initial letters of Wonneberger and Jörn, the managing director. BRUZE was a second name on the shortlist. The winner was decided quite quickly: WOJOER. The only change was that the Ö was converted to an international OE. Thank you once again for your creative input via smartphone. 2016 marked the launch, and around the same time a brand called BRUZE actually hit the market, though it failed to really establish itself. “Just as well we didn’t go for that name.”

Wojoer (pronounced ‘Voyeur’) is a brand of Wonneberger Manufaktur. Since 2015, the company has been run by the fifth generation of the family: Jörn Wonneberger (Master of Arts in Fashion Design) and Claudia Wonneberger (Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design). Behind the brand is a well-coordinated team of designers, pattern developers, pattern draughtsmen, and highly qualified sample and industrial seamstresses. All stages of production, from design through to manufacturing, are carried out under one roof and are currently 100 per cent produced in 09243 Mühlau, Germany.

Our sewing workshop was founded in 1882.
